Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2027: a visitor's guide

Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) opens the year from 10 to 14 January 2027, with most events at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi. The organisers say ADSW 2026 drew more than 60,000 attendees, with over 170 countries represented each year. This short guide covers dates, registration, getting there and where to stay.

Key facts

  • Dates: 10 to 14 January 2027. Most events, including the World Future Energy Summit, run from 12 to 14 January.
  • Venue: ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, Khaleej Al Arabi Street, Abu Dhabi.
  • World Future Energy Summit: 12 to 14 January at ADNEC, 09:00 to 17:00. The organisers describe it as a global exhibition and conference on renewable energy, sustainability and cleantech. It is open to the public.
  • Also open to the public: the ADSW Opening Ceremony and the Zayed Sustainability Prize Awards on 12 January, and the Youth 4 Sustainability Forum and the Arts and Culture programme from 12 to 14 January. The ADSW Summit (12 and 13 January), Investor Connect (14 January) and most forums are invite only.
  • Registration: register your interest on the official ADSW registration page. Check the official site for passes and any fees.
  • Who it's for: policymakers, investors and business leaders, and anyone working in energy, climate, water or cleantech. The organisers say more than 120 heads of state have attended since 2008.

Getting there

  • Bus: ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi is served by bus route 040, seven days a week.
  • Taxi: Abu Dhabi taxis (TransAD) can be booked on 600 53 53 53, and taxis wait at the Aloft hotel entrance next to the venue. Careem works across the city.
  • By car: ADNEC has on-site car parks for up to 6,000 vehicles, with valet parking. Check the ADNEC getting here page before you go, as arrangements can change during big events.
  • From the airport: ADNEC says Abu Dhabi's airport is about 15 minutes away.
  • From Dubai: allow around 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes by road, depending on traffic. Intercity buses also run between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Where to stay nearby

  • At the venue: Andaz Capital Gate and Aloft Abu Dhabi are right next to ADNEC, the easiest option if you want to walk in each morning.
  • Wider Abu Dhabi: the city has plenty of hotels within a short taxi ride, from the Corniche to Al Maryah Island and Saadiyat Island.
  • Staying in Dubai: possible, but it means more than an hour on the road each way, so it suits people splitting their trip between both cities.

Buying while you're in Dubai?

Making the most of the trip

  • Weather: January is one of the UAE's coolest months. National Center of Meteorology figures put average January highs across the country at about 21 to 26°C and lows at about 12 to 15°C, and foggy mornings are common. Bring a light layer for the evening and the air-conditioned halls.
  • Visas: some nationalities get a visa on arrival, others need to apply before travelling. Check the official UAE government portal u.ae. Your passport should be valid for at least six months.
  • Dress: business or smart casual is the norm. Comfortable shoes help across the halls.
  • Stay a few extra days: the Dubai Shopping Festival runs until 17 January 2027.

Thinking about Dubai property while you're here?

Many ADSW visitors fly through Dubai or add a few days there. If you are already in the UAE, it is a good moment to see Dubai neighbourhoods in person, meet agents and developers face to face and compare price, rent, service charges and vacancy before you decide. It is worth working out the net return, not just the headline yield.
