Making the most of the trip
- Weather: by late November the heat has eased. Daytime highs are usually in the high 20s°C, with cooler evenings, which suits the fair's afternoon and evening hours.
- Visas: some nationalities get a visa on arrival, others need to apply before travelling. Check u.ae. Your passport should be valid for at least six months.
- What to bring: you cannot bring your own food or drink. Glass, sharp items, drones and laser pens are not allowed. There are places to eat and drink at the fair.
- Tours: the fair offers free tours in English and Arabic, booked through the organisers.
- Make a day of it: Louvre Abu Dhabi is in the same Cultural District.
Thinking about Dubai property while you're here?
Many Frieze visitors fly through Dubai or add a few days there, and the fair is also a good moment to see how homes are furnished and styled. If you are thinking about Dubai property, you can see neighbourhoods in person, meet agents and developers face to face and compare price, rent, service charges and vacancy before you decide. It is worth working out the net return, not just the headline yield.
